RE-CORTA, Demolición Técnica, S.L., moves a demolition robot to Los Fresnos Shopping Centre situated in the coastal city of Gijón Asturias. REDEVCO, investment company and real estate developer, which acquired Los Fresnos Shopping Centre in 2007, has promoted through the contractor ANKARSA, SA the demolition of one of the premises.

In collaboration with the company VOLADURAS DEMOLICIONES Y DESGUACES, S.A., RE-CORTA has been involved in the local inside demolition placed on the top floor of the building, which previously had different kinds of use, such as movie theaters and later a karting circuit. The area to be demolished is 2408 m2, plus a mezzanine of 462 m2.

For this demolition, RE-CORTA has used the smaller robot family, the Brokk 90, which, with an approximate weight of 1,000 kg and an engine that delivers a power of 11 kW, being the most suitable for this work. It has two main advantages: the load transmited to the forge is perfectly acceptable without a prop and the robot runs on an electric motor that emits no exhaust fumes, potentially dangerous in indoor work.
